Lorenzo A. Messina, age 84, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Rosemary McCully Messina, entered into eternal life on November 3, 2023.

Lorenzo was born and raised in Astoria, NY and resided in Fairfield for over 49 years. A graduate of Manhattan College, Lorenzo was a CPA for Prudential Securities in New York, NY from where he retired. Lorenzo enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, building furniture for his family, and gardening. He loved being near the water and took great pleasure in swimming in the ocean, especially while growing up, going to Rockaway and Jones Beaches. Lorenzo’s faith and his family were the most important things in his life.

In addition to his devoted wife of 55 years, Rosemary, Lorenzo’s memory will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Lawrence Messina, and his wife, Lesly, of Charleston, WV, Matthew Messina, and his wife, Christine, of Fairfield, and John Messina, and his wife, Bridget, of Pelham, NY; his daughters, Kathryn O’Mahony, and her husband, Stephen, of Fairfield and Maria Messina, of New York, NY; his cherished grandchildren, Sophia, Liam, Rosemary, Eleanor, Clare, Lindsey, Ryan, Max, Francesca, Patrick, and Luke; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Lorenzo and Adele Birolli Messina; a brother, Philip; and a sister, Maria.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. directly at St. Thomas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Fairfield.

Lorenzo’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Oncologist, Dr. Richard Frank, whose dedication gave them more time with their beloved Lorenzo.
