Obituary of Jeanette Coley
Jeanette Stanley Coley, age 78, of Fairfield, beloved wife of Kenneth Raymond Coley for 56 years, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017.
In Addition to her devoted husband Ken, Jeanette will be lovingly remembered by her son Kevin Coley, his children Elizabeth and William, his wife Carrie Hick and her daughters, Madison, Carson and Jordan, of Madison; her daughter Cathy Coley and her husband Andrew Tinari and their children Kenneth, Shea and Chloe, of Yorktown, VA; her son Keith Coley and his wife Elizabeth and their children Alexander and Andrew, of Trumbull; many nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Clyde and Ethel Stanley; her 5 sisters Helen, Evelyn, Mary, Dolores and Joyce; 2 brothers Joseph and Charles.
Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Jeanette lived in Connecticut since 1966. She was a secretary for several companies, and was known for her ability of dictation in shorthand and to type 133 WPM. When her husband left the corporate world to buy tennis clubs she was the Vice President and secretary, bookkeeper and administrator.
She enjoyed playing and watching tennis, bowling on several leagues, playing poker and bridge, as well as, spending time with her family and friends at Black Rock Yacht Club, and with the "gourmet group". Community minded, she volunteered for the Fairfield Welcome Wagon, RTM, PTA, Fifth Wheel, League of Womens Voters, and taught art at Grasmere Elementary school. Her passion was music, she loved to sing in church choir and enjoyed playing her baby grand piano. Her kindness and warmth will remain a lasting memory for those she touched in life.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
