Obituary of Gilbert D. Morgan

Gilbert DeLany Morgan, age 78, beloved husband of Willie Mae Morgan, of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2021.
Born in Alberta, VA to the late Leslie Carlton Morgan and Eunice Thompson Morgan. Gilbert grew up in Mamaroneck, New York where he attended Mamaroneck Elementary School and graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1960. Gilbert went on to serve his country as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force from 2/1961 to 2/1965. Following his Honorable Discharge Gilbert was immediately employed by Norden’s United Technologies in Norwalk ,where he was a Foreman for 32 years. Once retired, he embarked on a new career with his new passion selling real estate. He was a stellar agent at Century 21 Scala & Clark until his passing.
Gilbert will be lovingly remembered by his family including his loving wife, Willie Mae Morgan (affectionately known as Billie); his children, Tonya M. Holland, Craig A. Morgan, and Sharrie D. Bullock( Damian); his cherished grandchildren, Tamia M. Bird, Brittney P. Morgan, Craig Alejandro’ Morgan, Tyson A. Soulette, Ajanae M. Bullock, Mehki J. Bullock, Laila S. Holland, and Lauren N. Morgan; his great grandson, Maison A. Soulette; Gilbert’s siblings, Marilyn Willis, Ronald Morgan ( Maya), Sandra McKay, and Wendy Ramirez (Alvaro).
In addition to his parents, Gilbert was predeceased by his sibling Leslie C. Morgan Jr., a very special aunt Matilda T. Edwards, and special son in law Darrell E. Holland (Tonya's late husband).
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday (February 17th) from 5 to 8 PM at the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center (wearing face masks and social distancing will be expected and observed). A private prayer service for the family will be from 4 to 5 PM with the visitation from 5PM- 8PM. Reverend Sara Smith, Esq. will be officiating.
