Maria was my dear friend for 34 years. We worked together at Steinbach 's in junior department. She was a very hard worker. Maria would run 100 miles per hour to put the clothes back on the racks.
I have wonderful memories of Maria, that will last a life time. Maria had a beautiful smile, very kind and giving person, must of all I will miss her laugh. She was very fun to be with.
My first time going to a Broadway show was with Maria and Eloise to see Les Miserables. We took the bus to NYC from the Bradlees parking lot. One funny moment was during the play there was a gun battle, Maria got scared, she screamed. She was embarrassed. Maria,Eloise and I were laughing all day.
During the Christmas season Micheal would give us tickets to the Black Rock Congregational Church,to see the Christmas pageant. After the pageant Maria and I would go out for are annual Christmas dinner.
We use to go to dinner all the time, with our friends Kathy,Regina,Maria C and Angelica. They worked with us at Steinbach's. We use to have so much fun getting together. I will never forget these days, of course Maria always made us laugh.
Maria always said to me that she will always remember me. I will always remember her too. Maria was a beautiful person. One day we will meet again. Love you Maria! Debbie

Dearest Titi Sara- you were always one of the brightest lights in Connecticut whenever we would visit. Your kind, tender heart, sweet smile and ever welcoming arms were such comfort! Especially after mom passed through the veil, your loving ways were always a healing balm to me. You are an amazing woman. And now you are your lively self again! I can only imagine the wonderful reunion you are having with all who have gone before! I will miss you now but will look forward to kissing your sweet face again! Love, Carmen Theresa

Life is already so different without you, Grandma. I know it’s not for a long time but I can’t wait till the day I get to hear you say “good to see you” again. I love you grandma.

Hi..I am Maria Laracuenta. Although not a blood relative of Sara Madar..our bond was through her father Domingo Rivera and his mom...raising my mother Victoria Laracuenta, from the age of 2 years old when her mother passed away...Later Domingo Rivera got married to Petra and she became my mom’s Godmother. Both raised my parents as their family increased.
Sara always made my mother feel like she was her blood sister..we use to visit her often as she was raising her boys Bobby and Michael. She was such a caring mother to her boys and loving wife to Robert Madar.
Fast forward..I use to visit her often and I never left her house without feeling joyful. We would talk about pass memoirs and the funny twist things took...we both laughing so hard..tears would stream now our faces. What a joy she was..I will miss her.
She would talk about Engelbert Humperdinck one of her idols. I was able to get her a personal note to her signed by Engelbert and a red hankie..he always threw out a red hankie to his audience at the end of his shows..and the lucky woman would rush to catch the hanky.
Sarah’s face just lite up when she open the envelope. Tears came to her eyes..she finally got that red hanky and pics of Engelbert she alway wanted...there is so much more to tell about this gentle soul...I would fill two pages or more. “Love you Sara..God bless” ,..that is how I ended the visit.
Now I say to her: Love you Sara..God Bless and one day I will visit with you again.
