Susan Ellen McVey McGuire, age 77, of Fairfield, beloved wife of John McGuire, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020.
Sue was born in Cumberland, Rhode Island on May 14, 1943 , daughter to the late Frank and Sarah Quinn McVey, Mrs. McGuire had moved to Fairfield many years ago. She had worked as an administrator for the City of Bridgeport for many years until her retirement.
She was very involved with the Cub Scouts of America and was a Cubmaster. She enjoyed hosting Tupperware parties as well as Longeberger hand woven baskets and pottery parties. Sue also liked reading and shopping, Broadway shows and 50's and 60's music. More than anything she loved the times that she spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to John, her loving husband of 50 years. Survivors include her son, Kerry McGuire of Fairfield, grandchildren Brendan and Brian Gomola and Alyssa and Dylan McGuire, a brother Patrick McVey of Cumberland RI, sisters Eileen Cronin of Bayside, NY, Kathleen Quelette and Colleen Matta, both of Cumberland, RI as well as several Godchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons John and Darren McGuire and a sister Maureen Mastalerz.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center with burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cubscouts of America.
