Joseph R. Buskey, age 51, of the Black Rock Section of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Ruth Nemeth-Buskey, entered into eternal life on July 4, 2020. In addition to his loving wife, Ruth Nemeth-Buskey, Joe’s memory will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Mary Lou Janulis, of Bridgeport; his sister, Lori Buskey, of Fairfield; his mother-in-law, Marge Nemeth, of Lawrenceville, GA; brother-in-law, Steve Nemeth, and his wife, Jackie, of Lawrenceville, GA; his uncle, Robert Anderson and his wife Evelyn (godparents), of Fairfield; nephews, Stephen and Oliver Nemeth, both of Lawrenceville, GA; his first cousins, Jim Nealon, of Bridgeport, Tim Nealon, and his partner, Terry, of Stratford, Lisa Nealon, of Alexandria, VA, John Anderson, of New York City, Eric Anderson, and his wife, Elaine, of Fairfield, Susan Briener, and her husband, David, of Stratford; and many other close cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Buskey; grandparents, Bertha Buskey, and Anne and Harry Anderson; aunt, Alice Nealon; half-sister, Donna Buskey; step-father, Norman Janulis; and his beloved Pit bulls, Shank and Snyper. Born in Bridgeport, Joe was a lifelong resident of Black Rock, graduated from Bullard-Havens Technical School in 1986, and was a longtime employee of Collins Pharmacy. Joe was a licensed Master Plumber and was the proud owner of Black Rock Plumbing. Joe enjoyed fishing at the Norden Club and golfing. He took great pleasure in playing cribbage with his grandfather, Harry, and his friend, Doug. Joe had a deep passion for sports and was an avid New York Yankees, UConn, and Dallas Cowboys fan. Joe was the 1998 and 2006 Annual Boland Bocce Tournament Champion and the 2006 Black Rock Day Bed Race Champion. He cherished all animals, especially Pit bulls. Joe was one of a kind. Disciplined and caring, a day didn’t go by that Joe wasn’t doing something to better himself or those around him. He looked out for others and lived his life with great intentions for all he came in contact with. Many fond memories of Joe will be embraced by all who knew him. Joe's family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Guests will have the ability to greet his family in a safe, comfortable setting. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 AM in Saint Ann Church, with his cousin, Father John Anderson officiating. A private inurnment will be held in Mountain Grove's Pilgrim Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the SPCA of Connecticut Inc.
