Obituary of Raymond L Brennan

Raymond L. Brennan, age 90, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Born in Bridgeport, son of the late Joseph and Amelia Brassard Brennan, Mr. Brennan was a lifelong Fairfield Town resident. He was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1944 and then enlisted in the United States Navy, serving during WWII. he being the seventh of his brothers to serve their country. Raymond later went on to work for the National Association of Letter Carriers for over 40 years until his retirement. He was a dedicated volunteer for the West Haven Veterans Hospital, especially known for raising funds for medical equipment and schoolorships for children of needy Veterans. Mr. Brennan was also a member of the American Legion, George A. Smith Post 74, of Fairfield. He is survived by his devoted sister, Patricia E. Brennan of Fairfield as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Charles, Thomas, Robert, Edward, Joseph, Francis and Richard and sisters Mary, Madeline, Lillian and Amelia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 27 at 10 am DIRECTLY at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Stratfield Rd., Fairfield with burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery with full Military Honors. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3-7 pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center.
