Obituary of Ivan Stelmakh

Ivan Stelmakh, age 79, of Stamford, beloved husband of Olga  Stelmakh, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 9:00 pm at Norwalk Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born and raised in the Ukraine, Mr. Stelmakh was a Stamford town resident for 19 years. Ivan was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage, he liked fishing and being outdoors, he was an expert mechanic and enjoyed working on the family autos and caring for their home. More than anything he cherished the times that he spent with his grand and great-grandchildren. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather he will be greatly missed.

In addition to Olga, his loving wife of 55 years, he leaves behind his daughters Nelya Stelmakh and Lyubov Kozyuk with their husbands William Gonzalez and Mikhail Kozyuk and his grandchildren Lilia and Adrian Kozyuk, Ihor Havryliv, great-grandchildren Anthony and Angelina Havryliv,  as well as nieces and nephews Slavik Stelmakh, Galina and Anna Vlasyuk.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at St. Vladimir Greek Catholic Church, 24 Wenzel Terrace, Stamford, CT with burial to follow at St. John The Baptist Cemetery. Glastonbury, CT. Friends may visit at Church on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of service. Arrangements in the care of the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home.
