Obituary of Frank Hering

Frank Hering, age 93, of Fairfield, husband of the late Elfriede Simunich Hering, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Born in Yugoslavia, Mr. Hering came to the United States in 1952, first settling in Bridgeport before moving to Fairfield in 1961. Mr. Hering worked for the Howell Corporation for many years until his retirement. Frank was a devout catholic and had been a faithful parishoner of Holy Cross Church for many years. He was an avid wrestling and soccer fan, he liked traveling to Europe to visit with family. Frank took great pride in caring for his home and garden and especially cherished the times that he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, Mario Hering and his wife Kathleen of East Granby and Gary Hering and his wife Donna of Huntington, a daughter Renate Brukner and her husband Paul of Coral Springs, Florida, five grandchildren Susan Pfieffer, Nicole Paige and Lauren Morales, Jillian Carroll and Jamie Videira. He leaves behind his precious great-grandchildren Makenna, Avery and Jake and Ava and Juan as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:15 am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center and at 12 noon at Holy Cross Church, 750 Tahmore Dr., Fairfield. Burial will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of services.
