Obituary of Donald R Bagley

Donald R. Bagley, 86, of Stratford, CT, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, after a battle with cancer.

Donald Bagley was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, in 1939 to Henry and Ann Bagley. He married Darlene (née Devaux) on October 15, 1960. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Donald served as a police officer in Fairfield, Connecticut, for 30 years, retiring in 1990. After retiring, he worked at CDI in Stratford, Connecticut, until his second retirement in 2008. 

Donald lived in Fairfield from 1960 to 1984 and then resided in Stratford from 1984 until his passing. He was a talented handyman and an antique car enthusiast. Additionally, Donald was a lifetime member of Port 5 and the Gaelic American Club. He was also a parishioner at Our Lady of Grace Church in Stratford, CT, and a member of the Blue Knights police motorcycle club.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Bagley; daughter, Deborah (Steven) Bok; grandchildren, Paul (Cinthia) Yablonski, Renee (Jason) Booth, Lauren (Cameron) Hammond, and Matthew (Cassandra) Bok; great-grandchildren Brianna Converse, Kayden Converse, Wynter Booth, and Emma Grace Yablonski; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Donald was predeceased by his daughter, Eileen Yablonski, and grandson, Mark J. Bertanza. 

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 14th, from 4 to 8 PM at Lesko Funeral Home, located at 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center. Donald’s funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, January 15th, at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Fairfield. After the mass, the funeral procession will proceed to Lawncroft Cemetery, where Donald will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Tunnels to Towers.
