Obituary of Joseph A. Mattiolo
Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joseph Anthony Mattiolo, 61, passed away on November 21, 2024. Born on January 3, 1963, in Brooklyn, NY to Anthony and Marie Mattiolo, Joe was a longtime resident of Fairfield, CT.
Joe was a bull in a China shop, but with a heart of gold. Never without an opinion, usually unsolicited, you always knew where he stood. Despite his rough exterior, Joe cared deeply for his family and friends. You could find him flipping houses and helping friends and family with remodeling and renovations. He could always be relied upon to install a faucet, fix your furnace, or for a fresh-caught, home-cooked meal. Joe’s generosity was clear in his final act, helping to save three lives through the gift of organ donation. Joe was known for his love of boating, fishing, traveling and cooking. If he wasn’t working on his boats, he was likely fishing around the world including Florida, Montauk, the Caribbean, and Panama. Above all, Joe fiercely loved his family and treated many friends as such.
His smile will be sadly missed by his mother, Marie, sister Karen Maniscalco and her husband Vince, brother Keith, Joe’s partner Stacey Kane DiDio; his cherished nieces and nephews, Amanda Maniscalco and her husband Parker Postma, James Maniscalco, Siena, Caden and Blake Mattiolo. He was predeceased by his father, Anthony. Calling hours will occur at Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, CT on Saturday, November 30th 9:30 to 11:30 am followed by a 12:30 pm Mass at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or CAST for kids.
