Joan Holzbauer, age 89, of Fairfield, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2023.

Born in Bridgeport, daughter of Donald and Ann Gordon. Joan grew up in Stratford and graduated from Stratford High School, Class of 1953. After graduating high school, Joan worked for Connecticut National Bank for several years where she developed lifelong friendships with her co-workers. One of these co-workers, Patricia Holzbauer, introduced Joan to her brother John, who would become the love of Joan's life. After marriage, Joan stopped working at the bank and dedicated her life to raising 3 generations. She took pride in attending and supporting her children, grandchildren and great grandson in all of their interests. Joan served on the women's auxiliary at the Catholic War Veterans Post 1433 and Port 5 National Association of Naval Veterans.

Joan leaves behind her sons, David Holzbauer of Stratford and Ronald Holzbauer of Fairfield, granddaughters Melissa and Casandra Holzbauer and a great grandson Christopher Towne.

In addition to her parents, Joan is predeceased by her husband, John Holzbauer and her son, Kurt Holzbauer.

Calling hours for Joan will be held on Friday, September 20th from 5-7 pm at the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21st at 10 am at the Lesko Funeral Home, with her burial to follow at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield.
