Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Burke Falasca (born Patricia Mary Burke), age 76, of Fairfield. She was the beloved wife of Weda Charles Falasca. She passed away on January 17, 2024. Born on May 13, 1947, in Greenwich to the late Martin S. and Estelle S. Burke (née Larish), Patricia was a graduate of St. Mary High School in Greenwich. Patricia spent most of her career in banking. Beginning in 1966, she rose from teller to assistant treasurer at the Glenville, CT, office of Union Trust Company. While at Union Trust, she met her husband, Weda, and they rose through the ranks together until their marriage in 1979. After marriage, Patricia worked in various fields including specialized design services, villa rentals, and medicine. In the 1990s, she became an early adopter of teleworking, creating a home office with a fax machine and early internet. An avid reader, Patricia taught the love and value of books to her child and grandchildren. One of her favorite series was "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings", which she read to her son, Brian, when he was a child. A lifelong learner, she was always interested in and appreciated other cultures, religions, and lifestyles. Patricia loved to cook and bake, perfecting her brother, Martin's, recipe for "Awesome Chicken". Patricia loved her family dearly. She looked forward to weekly video chats with her grandchildren in Washington, DC, and did everything she could to be present in their lives, even if they were far away. She was the consummate hostess, always kind, interested, and patient with guests, even if she had only just met them. Her first question was always, "How are you?" and she meant it. She always wanted to know about you first. Patricia's memory will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Weda C. Falasca, of Fairfield; her son, Brian W. Falasca, his wife, Lindsey, and their daughters, Isabelle, Charlotte, and Emily of Washington, DC; her brother, William M. Burke, and his wife, Priscilla, of Rowayton; her sister-in-law, Carol Ann Falasca, of Norwalk; her brother-in-law, Robert John Falasca, of Washington, DC; her niece, Michelle Burke Phelps, and her husband, Donnie, and their children, Madeline, James, Heather, Halle, and Hayden, of Moseley, VA; and her nephew, Chris Burke, his wife, Erika, and their son, Ryan, of Miami, FL. In addition to her parents, Martin and Estelle Burke, Patricia was predeceased by her brother, retired US Air Force Col. Martin J. Burke. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring at the time of her interment.
