Laszlo Mencseli, age 91, of Fairfield, beloved husband of Piroska Mencseli for 65 years, passed away on November 1, 2023.

Laszlo was born in Nyirad, Hungary and emigrated to the U.S. in 1956 and had been a resident of Fairfield for 55 years. He worked 37 years for Handy Harmon. A devout Catholic, Laszlo was a faithful parishioner of St. Emery Church.

In addition to his loving wife, Piroska, Laszlo's memory will be lovingly remembered by his beloved son, Miklos Mencseli, and his wife, Martha, of Cheshire; his beloved grandchildren, Justin, of Wallingford and Becky, of Colorado; and his niece, Marika, of West Haven. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and three sisters.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Emery Church, 838 Kings Highway E., Fairfield. Entombment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield.
