Obituary of William "Bill" Satti
Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William "Bill" Satti, 65, AIDS activist and beloved brother, passed away on September 30, 2023, after a brief illness.
A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Bill was a lifelong advocate of LBGTQ+ rights and worked from the early 80's supporting hospices, organizations, and people living with HIV/AIDS.
Bill was a lover of music and collected it all his life and couldn't wait to tell you about a new mix of an old song he'd heard. He was a wonderful cook and would combine gourmet meals with his love of movies for fun evenings with family and friends. He was especially proud of his beautiful gladiolus garden, planted to honor his parents' love of the flowers. Later in life, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and trying to keep his cat, Scampers, out of everything.
Predeceased by his husband and the love of his life Bill Mahoney, Bill is survived by sisters, Jean Satti-Hewat and husband Roger Hewat, Jennifer Twaddle and husband Robert Twaddle, as well as David and Ruth Satti. Additionally, he is survived by loving family members Nora Weston, Mark Weston, Danielle Adams, and Justin Kocsis.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., November 4, 2023, at Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, Connecticut.
