Obituary of Irene Kharaz

Irene Kharaz, age 74, of Trumbull, passed into eternal rest on September 18, 2023.

Irene was born in Lviv, Ukraine, both of her parents were college professors. Irene received her undergraduate and master's degree from National Forestry University of Ukraine with honors distinction. In Lviv, her career included various research and team lead positions at NPO Systema and Elektron. After she immigrated to the United States, she settled in Connecticut and after several stepping stone jobs, she found a long-term career at Vitramon/Vishay Inc in Monroe, CT up until her retirement. Although Irene was a mechanical engineer by trade, she also had passion for literature, art, architecture, and traveling. Most importantly, Irene always had focused devotion to her loved ones - family, friends and pets.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Olga Chiriac, and son-in-law, Octavian Chiriac, of Fairfield, and her two grandchildren, Ariana and Andrew Chiriac. She is predeceased by her mother, Eugenia Vysotska Gofman, and her father, Alexander Gofman.
