Jean A. Bodnar, age 83, of Fairfield, wife of the late Frank J. Bodnar Sr., passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018.

Born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Bernard Marra  and Anna Marra Backert, Mrs. Bodnar was a lifelong Fairfield Town resident. Jean enjoyed the simple things in life, just sitting on her porch swing and the occasional trip to the casino. More than anything, she will always be remembered as a caring and fun loving mom, grandma and great grandma (Gigi). She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her five Children Kathy Bodnar Malin & her husband Ken of New Jersey, Frances Bodnar of Monroe, Deborah Bodnar of Meriden, Frank J. Bodnar Jr and his wife Evelyn of Fairfield, David Bodnar and his wife Rebecca of Monroe. She leaves behind her precious grandchildren Sean Malin and his wife Jamie, Kristina Malin Roads and her husband Andrew, Deanna LaRoche and her husband Joe, Frankie III, Nicole, Jacqueline & Emily Bodnar, Kelly, Katie, Paige Bodnar, & David Bodnar Jr and his wife Amy. She also leaves behind four Great Grandchildren, Dominic, Grace, Oliver, & Madison. As well as a brother Roger Backert and  a special Cousin Dolly Lucifora. Jean will be sadly missed by her longtime companion Ronald Sakkinen and her Granddog "Bricky" 

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center with burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4-8 pm in the funerl home.
