Obituary of Mary Gardiner Stevens

Mary Gardiner Stevens, age 93 of Westport, wife of the late Donald Stevens, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
Born and raised in Waltham, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Augustus and Margaret O'Donnell Gardiner, Mary had lived in Connecticut for over 70 years and for the last 56 years in Westport. She had met her future husband while living in Washington, DC and working for the USMC where she met Donald who was a Sergeant and they were married in Upper Marlboro, MD on February 17, 1952. Mary went on to work for MBI, Inc in Norwalk until her retirement in 1995.
She will be remembered for her love of her family, her sense of humor and love of laughter.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Judy Ann Stevens and Mary R. Stevens, both of Westport and Donna Simonetta and her husband Leo of Baltimore, MD, a brother John Gardiner of Waltham, MA as well as Nieces, Nephews Grand Nieces and Nephews and three Great-Great nephews as well as her little canine friends, Chance and Henry. In addition to Donald her loving husband of 45 years, she was predeceased by her sisters Helen Phillips, Emily Gardiner and Ruth Irvin and brothers William, Robert and Benjamin Gardiner.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29 from 9 am until her service at 11 am.
