Obituary of Lisa Jeanne Laudico
Please share a memory of Lisa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lisa Jeanne Manning Laudico, 56, of Fairfield, passed away on August 6th, 2022 after a 5 year battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer.
Lisa was born on November 5th, 1965 in London, Ontario to George Russel Manning and Lorna Marie Swift Manning. She received the first of her many degrees from Waterloo University, followed by her first job at IBM then Northern Telecom. She worked in Canada, the US and eventually Japan, where she met her husband of 27 years, Anthony Laudico. Japan was followed by moves to Australia, Aix-En-Provence, Washington DC, Paris, Bologna, Italy (where she received her Masters in International Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies), eventually settling in New York, where she was an associate commissioner for the department of small business services. Here she gave birth to the true lights of her life - her sons Matthias and Alexander. She was a passionate, dedicated, and caring mother who would, and did, everything for her children's happiness.
A lifelong advocate for mental health, Lisa received her second master's degree in social work from Fordham University, eventually working in this area to help young children deal with trauma.
Lisa was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer in August 2017. She dealt with this in a way that was truly courageous - by creating and hosting the award-winning Our MBC Life podcast (please see www.ourmbclife.org). She and her team produced 4 seasons of incredible episodes that have helped a multitude of others battling this horrible disease.
Lisa is survived by her mother, Lorna Manning; sisters, Sheila Manning and Mary March; her husband, Anthony, and their children, Matthias Laudico and Alexander Laudico; her two nephews, Jakob March and Greydon Sinnathurai; and niece, Julia March.
Lisa lived her life as we all should - filled with adventure, love, service, and grace. Lisa was light, joy, brilliance, and courage and will be missed beyond measure.
