Obituary of Claire Katz

Claire Roseman Katz age 90 of Oldsmar, FL wife to the late Richard A. Katz passed away on July 17, 2022 in Purdy, NY.

Clairie’s memory will be embraced by her 6 children, Steven Donn of Ann Arbor, MI, Michael Donn of Boston, MA, David Katz of Oldsmar, FL, Norci Katz Kochman and husband Larry of Fairfield, CT, Mindy Katz Strauley and husband Paul of Casselberry, FL, Lisa Katz Grieco and husband Ray of Putnam Valley, NY,  9 grandchildren Ryan Donn (Amy), Lainie Donn Dougherty (Matt), Michael Katz, Jennifer Katz Siegle (Tom), Naomi Kochman (Sean Moline), Joey Grieco (Natalie Rapini), Kimberly Kochman (Brennan Mossa), Nicole Grieco, Frank Grieco and 5 Great Grandchildren Livia, Grayson, Charlotte, Parker, and Sonny.

Claire was predeceased by her parents Esther and Murray Roseman, Parent-in-laws Norcia and Harry Katz, Sister and Brother-in-law Elaine Roseman Donn and Richard Donn. Her daughter in laws Christine Katz and Paula Donn, Brother-in-law Lewis Katz.

With her husband she raised her family in Westbury, NY and Manchester Ctr. VT.  Later retiring in Oldsmar, FL. Claire received her teaching degree from Hofstra University and was an elementary school teacher on Long Island, NY.  She ran the Chalet Motel in Manchester, VT with her husband and son.

While in Oldsmar, every Wednesday Claire enjoyed golfing with the “WACKO” group, knitting, mahjong, reading and water aerobics. She was a member of the Adoniram chapter #22 which later combined with Catherine chapter # 83 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday July 20th at 11 am: at Cedar Park Cemetery 735 Forest Ave. Paramus, NJ. Family and friends who are not able to attend the service are welcome to join us for a luncheon starting at 1 am at; Pleasantville Manor 110 Nannahagan Rd. Pleasantville, NY.

Shiva services will be observed on Wednesday & Thursday night 7 pm at the Kochman family home 40 Samp Mortar Drive Fairfield, CT. Parking can be found on Old Black Rock Turnpike, follow the signs at 15 Old Black Rock Turnpike.
