Ralph Moreo, age 91 of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Karen Sabo Moreo, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 29, 2018.

Born in Bridgeport on January 7, 1927, son of the late Phillip and Louise Cioffi , Ralph was a lifelong Bridgeport resident. He was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy. He spent his working life for the Town of Trumbull as a heavy equipment operator, retiring nearly twenty years ago.

He was a devout Catholic, regularly attending Mass at St. Patrick Church. Mr. Moreo belonged to the VFW Post 145 and was their current Commander for the past several years. He had been a softball umpire, and had received his Fifty Years of Umpiring award and was a longtime member of the Greater Bridgeport Athletic Association (Old Timers). His hobby was his vintage automobile, a 1956 Mercury Montclair that he often used in the Columbus Day Parade.

In addition to Karen, his loving wife of 47 years, survivors include his sister, Mary DellaPuietra of York, Maine as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Josephine Convertito and Betty Salvo.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. directly at St. Patrick Church, North Ave., Bridgeport. Burial will be held privately. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center.
