Obituary of Lena Zenorini
Lena Zenorini, age 98, devoted wife to the late Guido, and beloved mother to the late Kenneth, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2020.
Her memory will be cherished by her family including her daughter Ann May Christie, grandchildren Ross Christie, Esq. and Robyn Lewis (Thomas Higley), great grandchildren Chase and Emma Lewis and her beloved cousin, “Windy” Theresa Farina, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Born in Yatesboro, PA to the late Sessinio and Luigia Caliari Farina, Lena was predeceased by all of her siblings, Amedeo, Fred, Topsy, Sylvio, Julia, Edith, Blanche, Violet and Amy. For over 20 years, Lena was a governess to families in the Fairfield-Westport area. Also, she was a house mother to Fairfield University students prior to dormitories being built on campus. Throughout her life, Lena loved playing cards, dancing, softball and music, especially polka. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching football and baseball. She had a love of cooking and baking and was especially fond of trying new recipes. Her specialty was making pizzelles every year at the holidays.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Visitation will take place from 9 to 10:30 AM, with a prayer service to follow in the funeral home and interment in Mountain Grove Cemetery.
