Obituary of Joseph M. Bilotta
Joseph M. Bilotta, age 69, formerly of Westport, loving husband of Barbara Jean (Gillen) Bilotta, passed away peacefully in Connecticut Hospice on June 1, 2018.
In addition to Barbara, his devoted wife of 46 years, Joseph's memory will be embraced by his two sons, Gregory and his wife Robyn, of Fairfield; Nicholas and his wife Sarah, of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; brother Anthony and his wife Patricia; sister Marianne and husband Jimmy; five cherished grandchildren, Cole (14), Sophia (12), Jack (12), Max (10), Sam (9); and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Anna Perry Bilotta, and nephew, Christian Bilotta.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Joseph resided in East Windsor, NJ, and Westport, before recently moving to Stratford. He spent his summers in Avalon, NJ. He was a graduate of both University of Pennsylvania and LaSalle College. He was the President and CEO Buckley Radio before his retirement, as well serving as, the Chairman of the Radio Advertising Bureau, a six year board term with the National Association of Broadcasters, a lifetime board member of the Broadcasters Foundation of America, and a lifetime board member of the New Jersey Broadcasters Association.
Joseph enjoyed golf, fishing, and rooting for his Super Bowl Champion, Philadelphia Eagles. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially while on the beach. He cared deeply for his family and friends, and will be fondly remembered by those whom he touched in his beautiful life.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Funeral services will take place on Thursday 930 PM in the funeral home and 1030 AM in Saint Thomas Church 1719 Post Road, Fairfield. His burial will be private.
