Alexander Dean Vanghele, age 58, passed away suddenly on February 23, 2018. Born in Bridgeport on March 9, 1959,

Alex was a life-long resident of Bridgeport and worked proudly for many years in the restaurant business starting out as a waiter and eventually as banquet manager for several country club establishments in the area. Alex was an avid sports enthusiast and loved his New York Yankees and Giants with great unbridled passion. He was a generous, big-hearted sweet man, and his laugh was infectious. With so many faithful friends always by his side, Alex’s kindness and humor always shined through. His greatest love was to sing, his favorites being “Summer Wind” and “Lean On Me”.. Both tunes that were so true to his warm, giving, and hopeful soul.

Alex was pre-deceased by his father Constantine (Dina) Vanghele and mother Elizabeth (Betty) Vanghele. He is survived by his brother Thomas and sister-in-law Janice of New York City, and many caring, loving cousins. 

Calling hours and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 28th beginning at 10 am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center with his funeral service at 11:30 am. Burial services will be private.
