Obituary of Mark D'arcy
Mark D'arcy, age 73, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Martha Ratzenberger D'arcy, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.
Born in Dublin, Ireland, March 5, 1944, son of the late Edward and Bridget O'Brien Darcy, Mark was number 12 in a family of 13. He came to the United States in 1973 where he found work as a master welder, most recently for Rockwell Engineering of Fairfield . After his retirement he could be found every Friday with his best friend Ralph Money at Fayerweather Yacht Club. Mark was a past Vice Commodore of Fayerweather Yacht Club, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Mark also belonged to the Gaelic American Club of Fairfield where he enjoyed a pint and good craic with his fellow countrymen.
Mark will be sadly missed by his wife Martha and his daughters Suzanne Darcy and her fiancee John Ivanko of Sarasota, Florida and Siobhan Darcy of Seymour, his grandsons Robert Rodrigues, Jonathan Figueroa, Luis Brandon Torres and Izaiha Nunez. Mark leaves behind his brothers James of Dublin, Ireland and Noel of Cambridge, UK and Anthony of Leeds, UK and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by eight brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am directly at St. Ann Church, Brewster St., Bridgeport with burial to follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4-8 pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center.
