Obituary of Mary Ann Majlak

Mary Ann Majlak, age 79, of Westport, entered into eternal life on August 3, 2017. Born in Bridgeport to the late David and Helen Kovacs Majlak, Mary Ann received her Master's Degree in nursing, and was a nurse for 50 years. She lived and worked in Alaska for many years before moving back to Connecticut where she worked at St. Vincent's Medical Center and Yale New Haven Hospital. Mary Ann was a parishioner at St. Emery Church and loved all of God's creatures, big and small. She took great pleasure in needlepoint and knitting. Mary Ann's memory will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, Jennifer Majlak, Mary Lurwick, and her husband, David; and four great nieces, Natalie, Madeline, Emily, and Penelope; as well as her late best friend Mary Lou's husband, Art Smallwood, and their children, Linda, Sharon, and Donna. In addition to her parents and best friend, Mary Ann was predeceased by her brother, David Majlak, and his wife, Dorothy. Funeral services take place on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Emery's Church, 838 King's Highway E., Fairfield. Interment will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport. Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center.
