Dolores Ann Bolognini, Age 91, of Southport, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in 1934 in Astoria, New York, to the late Felix and Mary Madrazo, Dolores was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend to all who knew her.

Together with her beloved husband of 68 years, Louis, she built a beautiful life and raised three children, Vincent, Philip, and Catherine, instilling in them the warmth, strength, and grace that defined her own life.

A working woman well ahead of her time, Dolores brought her sharp eye, determination, and attention to detail to everything she did. Always savvy with her finances, she began a career at Chase Manhattan Bank before finding what would become her dream job as a bookkeeper with New York City design firm Parish-Hadley where she spent over 20 years. It was a perfect setting for Dolores, bringing together two sides of her personality: her meticulous eye for detail and her lifelong love of design, style, and fashion.

While Dolores was known for her generous heart, impeccable sense of style, and unwavering standards she was first and foremost the ultimate matriarch of the family—the one who helped hold everyone together. She was strong and resilient, always moving forward and fighting until the very end. Her love was steady, her loyalty fierce and her devotion to her family and friends

immeasurable. Even in her later years, she remained remarkably current, keeping in touch with family and friends by text and embracing emojis with an enthusiasm that was uniquely Dolores.

Dolores leaves behind a legacy of warmth, elegance, strength, and family devotion. The love she gave so freely will live on in the generations that follow her and in the countless memories shared by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

Dolores will be lovingly remembered by her son, Philip Bolognini, of Southport, Connecticut; her daughter, Catherine Chelstowski (Ray), also of Southport; and her daughter-in-law, Marcia Bolognini, of Wayne, New Jersey. She took immense pride and joy in her six grandchildren: Nicole McMillan (Steve), Dan Bolognini (Marisa), James Bolognini, Danielle Bolognini (Tom), Jack Chelstowski, and Sophia Chelstowski. She was especially overjoyed to welcome her first great-grandchild, Dakota, who brought her tremendous happiness. She is also cherished by numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and her favorite grand-dog, Roger Sterling.

Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Louis; her oldest son, Vincent; and her sister, Felicia Pastorelli.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, Connecticut, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield, Connecticut.
