William S. Schiappa

William "Bill" Schiappa, 79, of Trumbull, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital on August 15, 2026.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Bill was the son of the late Casey and Margaret Schiappa. He married the love of his life, Frances Altieri on October 19th, 1968, and together they built a devoted family and shared many happy years together.

Bill began his working career at Dewhirst Dairy on Madison Avenue in Bridgeport before moving to American Frozen Foods in Stratford, where he spent most of his professional life. Later in his career, he worked for the Lesko family's Funeral and Livery Services, the Town of Monroe school system, and ultimately the Town of Trumbull Senior Center, where he enjoyed serving his community.

Bill found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his six beloved grandchildren. He enjoyed days at the beach, fishing, traveling, dining with family and friends, and taking pride in his beautifully maintained lawn. Whether he was behind the wheel on a drive or relaxing in his recliner watching classic television reruns, Bill appreciated life's simple pleasures and the company of those he loved.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Frances Schiappa; his son, Bill Schiappa and wife Tina of Shelton; his daughter, Lisa D'Amato and husband Allan of Trumbull; and his cherished grandchildren, Matthew D'Amato, Anthony D'Amato, Johnny D'Amato, Joseph Schiappa, William Schiappa, and Ellie Schiappa. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Bozzi, and his sister-in-law, Joyce Schiappa, both of Trumbull.

In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother Thomas Schiappa of Trumbull and other members of his family whom he held dear.

Bill will be remembered for his dedication to family, strong work ethic, quiet generosity, and the love he shared with all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family and friends.
