Allan Brian Csuka, 79, of East Haven, a devoted husband to the late Donna (Gatto) Csuka, passed away in the early morning hours of August 8, 2026, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Allan was born to Margaret and Stephen Csuka on July 15, 1947, in the city of Bridgeport, where he spent much of his childhood and young adult life. Later, after meeting and becoming engaged to Donna, they moved to West Haven for several years while both were completing their teaching degrees at Southern Connecticut State College. After their marriage in 1972, Allan and Donna moved to Monroe, where they planted their roots and raised their family. While living in Monroe, Allan taught the sciences for almost thirty years in the Trumbull school system, until his retirement in the early 2000's. During this time, Allan was also an accomplished drummer who regularly performed at a number of local venues and town activities throughout Fairfield County. Although not the biggest fans of polka music or oldies, his sons remember fondly the warm summer nights when he and his band played outdoors on town greens.

Allan was generous in every aspect of life. In addition to his music, he had a great passion for animals and nature and loved sharing his views of the world through his photography. And he treasured quietly studying his friends and family, and demonstrating how much he cherished them through beautiful, handwritten letters and extremely thoughtful gift-giving, seemingly never realizing that his presence alone was enough to fill their cups.

Allan is survived by his three sons: Christopher Csuka of East Haven; Matthew Csuka and his wife, Allison, of Scarborough, Maine; and Daniel Csuka and his wife, Susan, of Fairfield. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Bella and Elliot, who brought him infinite joy and happiness. Allan is missed by his long-time companion, a dachshund with an endless capacity for barking named Pretzel, and he will be remembered by his family, the many students whom he impacted during his time teaching in Trumbull, and the many very dear friends he has made along life's journey. Allan is predeceased by his wife, Donna; his brother, Steven Csuka; and his sister, Carolyn (Csuka) Tracy.

Arrangements have been made with Lesko Funeral Home in Fairfield. All services will be held privately, and Allan's ashes will later be spread alongside those of his loving wife in South Yarmouth, Cape Cod, just a stone's throw away from where their family would play miniature golf every summer.
