Sally J. Ohlson McMahon (affectionately known as Nana, Gigi, McMom, and Mother Goose), of Fairfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at Bridgeport Hospital, with her family by her side, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the age of 83.

Sally was born in Stamford, Connecticut, on January 20, 1943. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Fullbright; her son, Lawrence (Larry) McMahon, and his wife, Kathleen; and her brother, Richard Ohlson, and his wife, Vicky. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Matthew, Travis (and his companion, Jaclynn), Caitlyn, and Ryan Mulligan; as well as her five great-grandchildren, Shane, Catalaya, Zaylee, Jaiden, and LilleeAnn Mulligan.

Sally was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence (Larry) McMahon; her father, Lester Ohlson; and her mother, Marjorie Van Iderstyne Ohlson.

Sally retired from the Fairfield Public School System, where she worked as a paraprofessional supporting children with special needs.

Sally adored her granddogs and grandcats. She will be remembered most for her wonderful sense of humor, her kind heart, and her extraordinary generosity. She will also be remembered for her love of children, travel, cruising, and the many friendships she cherished. She was always there with a smile or a helping hand for her family, friends, and neighbors.

In keeping with Sally's wishes, there will be no formal services. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her name to Special Olympics (support.specialolympics.org) or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
