Mary Louise Rossignol Skarzynski, 94, of Fairfield, Connecticut, died peacefully at home on Friday, June 19, 2026, following a long illness. Throughout her final days she was surrounded by her family, whom she loved most.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Mary Lu was the daughter of the late John and Mary Rossignol. She made Fairfield her home for nearly 70 years and had deep pride in her community and family roots. Mary Lu was a woman of strong faith and was grounded in her church and her trust in God. Through the good times and life’s challenging moments her faith was her inner strength and a source of comfort for her.

She is survived by her devoted daughter: Anne Wright and her husband Bob, and her devoted daughter-in-law Elizabeth Skarzynski. She was a loving and proud grandmother to Sarah Morsanutto and her husband Tom, Caroline Ervin and her husband Rob, Hilary Wright, Isabel Skarzynski, Kelly Skarzynski and 2 cherished great grandsons Daniel and Max Morsanutto.

MaryLu was predeceased by her husband Albert Skarzynski and her son Thomas Skarzynski and her brother John Rossignol II all of whom she carried in her heart.

MaryLu developed friendships with her girlfriends dating back to grade school and they always maintained their close connections. They were her dear friends. Teaching was her passion and Mary Lu taught in the catholic school system for many years reaching the position of adjunct professor at Sacred Heart University. She loved her student athletes and attended many of their home games cheering them on.

Mary Lu enjoyed many professional sports including tennis, baseball, basketball, hockey and football and was a happy fan of many teams. Her lifelong love was the beach, especially the Fairfield beaches. Here she would unwind, relax and visit with friends and family her entire life. MaryLu was also an avid swimmer her entire life and swam into her early eighties.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 26th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, 5301 Main Street Trumbull, CT 06611. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Mill Plain Rd, Fairfield, CT
