Catherine Elizabeth Maloney, 37, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, left us too early on March 11, 2026. Her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew and loved her.

    Cathy was born on October 25, 1988, to Sue and Bill Maloney of Fairfield, CT, who loved her deeply and endlessly. Cathy was the kindest, gentlest and most loving daughter. We will miss her terribly, but our many wonderful memories of her will be a light in difficult moments.

    Cathy grew up in Fairfield and was always on the move—there was always a game, meet, recital, or event with the Y, Wakeman, Fairfield Rec, and countless other local groups that kept her busy. She was a 2006 graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School. She cherished her friendships and stayed involved in field hockey, soccer, track, string and chamber orchestras, along with many other activities. Cathy graduated from Georgetown University in 2010 with a degree in Mathematics. During her time there, she rowed with the women's lightweight crew team and devoted many hours to community outreach, tutoring and mentoring students across Washington, D.C.— work that often had her navigating a small bus through the streets of D.C. After Georgetown, she continued her academic journey, earning a master's degree in mathematics at UCONN while teaching undergraduate math courses.

    Cathy found tremendous joy in her career as a math teacher at Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport, CT. She proudly wore the Harding Presidents' blue and gold and absolutely loved her students, celebrating their effort and accomplishments as if they were her own. She was equally grateful for the support, friendship, and kindness of her colleagues.

    Outside of school, Cathy loved sailing on Long Island Sound, playing tennis, and taking long walks through Black Rock. She enjoyed NYT games, playing the piano, knitting, cooking, and time with her favorite dog, Schatzi.

    In addition to her parents, Cathy is survived by her grandmother, Rose Jablonski of Southport; her aunt, Carol Maloney; and her cousins, Kate (Chris) Fagiani, Teresa Fagiani, Susan Fagiani and Michael Maloney. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Edward and Ruth Maloney of Swampscott, MA; her uncles, Ed Maloney and Joe Antonik; and her beloved cousin, Maggie Maloney.

    Calling hours will take place on Thursday, March 19th, 2026, from 3 to 7pm, with a prayer service at 6pm at Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center.
