Roma Ferretti Fanton of Fairfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the age of 95, surrounded by her loving family.

    Born on November 22, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, Mrs. Fanton was the daughter of the late Julius and Attilia Ferretti of Mineola, Long Island. Mrs. Fanton graduated from Adelphi University on Long Island in 1952 with a BA in Early Childhood Education and taught elementary school there for several years afterwards. Mrs. Fanton lived in Weston and Westport, Connecticut, before moving to Fairfield in 1974. She was an active member of the community, first as a broker for Merrill Lynch Realty in Fairfield and then as a philanthropist, organizing numerous fundraising events for Emerge, Inc., a nonprofit that supports domestic violence survivors. Known affectionately as the Greenfield Hill Party Hostess Deluxe, Mrs. Fanton was renowned for her spirited, well-organized social gatherings. She was a long-time member of the Aspetuck Valley Country Club in Weston, Connecticut, which is located on the ancestral property of her late husband, Dwight Fanton's family. Active in both the Greenfield Hill and Southport Congregational Churches, she also participated in the Sasqua Garden Club in Fairfield and loved photography and interior decorating.

    Mrs. Fanton was predeceased by her late husband of 54 years, Dwight Fanton, and is survived by her daughters, Deborah Joan Fanton of Weston, Massachusetts, and Roma Fanton Hoyt of Boothbay, Maine, as well as her stepson, Jonathan Foster Fanton of Hamden, Connecticut, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her first cousin, Joan Mottino Kullman of Bradenton, Florida.

    A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. on May 2nd at the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church, 1045 Old Academy Road, Fairfield, Connecticut.
