Nanette Jacqueline Buziak Obituary

Nanette Jacqueline Buziak (Nan), 54, of Westport, Connecticut, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, in Westport.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Nanette was preceded in death by her husband, Frederic R. Lexow, II, in 2012. She was the cherished daughter of Frank T. and Phyllis R. Buziak of Long Beach Island, NJ. She is also survived by her sister, Jenelle Buziak Purpura, brother-in-law Brian McKay Purpura, and their three children, Jack, Elle, and Peyton, whose lives she lovingly shared along with those of their pets Oreo, Woody, and Roxy. Nanette is also survived by Fred’s daughter, Sylvie Sutton Lexow, and her husband, Maximillian Lexow.

Graduating from Holmdel High School in 1989, Nanette earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Applied Actuarial Mathematics from Bryant University in Rhode Island in 1993. Following college, Nanette moved to Hoboken, NJ. She and Fred later moved to Westport, CT, where she resided for the past 25 years.

A dedicated professional, Nanette earned respect in a male-dominated industry. A long-time buy-side trader, she most recently served as a Managing Director with New York -based OptimX Markets. Beginning her career as an analyst at Bear Stearns, she served as a vice president and senior portfolio manager at JP Morgan Asset Management from 1997 to 2005. She then led global trading at Voya for nearly sixteen years and was recognized as Buy-Side Trader of the Year at Markets Choice Awardsin 2017.

A devout Catholic, Nanette actively participated in her church community, regularly attending Saturday morning Rosary services and organizing numerous events and fundraisers at St. Luke’s Church in Westport. Her generous spirit extended to charitable organizations, especially Al's Angels, where she volunteered her time assembling food pantry baskets for families in need during the holidays and throughout the year.

Nanette and Fred shared a love for summer, spending time on their boat at Norwalk Cove Marina B-Dock, where they forged many lifelong friendships. A lover of the beach, she often sought out sea glass along the shores of Compo Beach, CT. Travel was another of Nanette’s passions, especially to beach destinations and Walt Disney World, where she proudly became a Vacation Club owner. As a member of Shorehaven Golf Club, Nanette enjoyed peace by the pool while reading The New York Times, Barron’s, or The Wall Street Journal from cover to cover.

Above all, Nanette prioritized the needs of others before her own. Truly generous, she had a unique gift for making others feel special. If someone casually mentioned a book or admired item, it often appeared at their doorstep the very next day. Her remarkable kindness and generosity toward others were two of the many qualities that made her a beautiful person inside and out.
