Jack Hughes, a beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the age of 76 due to complications from diabetes.
Born in New York City and raised in Warren, N.J., Jack lived a fulfilling life in Stratford Ct.
Jack was a retired IT executive known for his dedication and leadership in the field. Beyond his professional achievements, he was an avid golfer. His passion for the sport was well known among his friends and family. He was also a passionate sports fan, tirelessly rooting for the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Notre Dame football teams that brought countless hours of excitement and, yes, disappointment.
In addition to his love for sports, Jack had a deep appreciation for literature. He was an avid reader, and his love for books was a testament to his curiosity and lifelong quest for knowledge.
He is survived by his sisters Liz Westbrook and Patty Hughes, his brother Mike Hughes, and his cousins, Barbara and John Lee, Susan Holleran, and Jed McGowan. Each of them had a special place in Jack's heart, along with Mike's wife Becky and his nieces and nephews, Farley Westbrook, Emily Thom, Kelly Hughes, and Tim Hughes.
In honor of Jack's wishes, a private family event will be held to celebrate his life.
All services will be held privately
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Diabetes Association Service Center, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, VA. 2216-7023, reflecting Jack's battle with the disease and his desire to help others affected by it.
