Randall J. Markoya Obituary

Randall "Randy" Markoya, 68, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Randy was born on August 23, 1957. He was the beloved son of the late John J. Markoya, Sr. and Eleanor Agasi Markoya, and brother to his late brothers Jeffrey Markoya and John "Jack" Markoya Jr. He was the devoted life partner of the late Debi Ostrofsky, with whom he shared countless memories, a deep bond, and matching humors full of sarcasm, sass and fun.

Randy was a man of many talents and wore more than a few hats over the years; from hairstylist to pest control technician and everything in between. No matter the job, his real gift was people. He loved meeting someone new and swapping tales from the glory days. A dedicated and proud member of the clubs he called home, Randy was deeply involved with the Elks Club in Fairfield, where he met his partner of over 16 years, the love of his life, Debi, as well as Port Five in Bridgeport, Connecticut. These communities were central to his life and friendships, and he gave back to them with loyalty and heart.

Randy cherished his family and showed his love through action. He made sure everyone was taken care of: every kid's car had an oil change, and every problem had a solution. Most of all, he selflessly cared for Debi throughout her courageous battle with cancer, standing by her side with devotion and strength, even while facing his own illness. His care was constant and given without hesitation.

He is survived by his honorary stepchildren, Chris Ostrofsky and his partner Tara O'Connor, and Kate Ostrofsky and her partner Conor McMorrow; his sister-in-law Carmen Markoya; his nephew Michael Markoya; and his niece Amanda Markoya. He is also survived by his honorary sister-in-law Jo Natale; his honorary nephew Andrew Natale, his wife Lynnette, and their son Myles; and honorary niece Bree Palmeiro, her husband Patrick, and their children Brody and Payton.

Randy found joy in life's simple pleasures such as sitting back with a cigar and a drink, listening to his vinyl records, enduring the suffering of a Jets game, and spending time with Debi and their beloved pets: Lil, Boone, Poe, and Baby. He will be remembered for his humor, his stories, his spirit, and the way he made people feel like friends instantly. He leaves behind laughter, memories, and a legacy of connection that will not be forgotten.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 4-8pm at Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824.
