Louis Francis Zearo, born on February 21, 1933, in New Rochelle, NY, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026. He grew up in New Rochelle, where he met the love of his life, Mary Louise, during high school. The couple married on June 23, 1956, and in 1967, they moved to Weston, Connecticut, to raise their family, becoming devoted parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

In Weston, Louis was an active member of Aspetuck Valley Country Club, where he served on the board of directors and as club President. He cherished the moments spent playing golf with friends and attending various events with Mary Louise, creating lasting memories.

Louis graduated from Iona College in 1955 and began his professional career with Coopers and Lybrand, where he became a partner in 1967. Specializing in the insurance industry, he worked with a diverse array of clients and took great pride in mentoring young professionals, many of whom became cherished lifelong friends. In 1995, Louis retired from Coopers and Lybrand and joined American International Group as Vice President and Deputy Comptroller. He particularly enjoyed working with the AIG financial team on mergers and acquisitions.

Following his retirement, Louis and Mary Louise spent their time between Connecticut and Vero Beach, Florida. He delighted in hosting dinner parties with friends, traveling, gardening, and, most importantly, spending time with his family. A lifelong fan of the New York Giants, Louis proudly supported his team throughout his life.

Louis is predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Louise Zearo; his parents, Louis Zearo and Elizabeth Reilly; and his sister, Ann Marie Zearo. He is survived by his son, Louis Zearo of Saratoga Springs, NY, and his daughter, Suzanne Spantidos, and her husband, Demetri Spantidos, of Weston, CT.

Louis Francis Zearo will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His legacy of kindness and dedication will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Weston, Connecticut, followed by interment at Oaklawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
