Mary Lou Connors Kasper, age 86 of Fairfield, CT, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Bridges of Trumbull after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary Lou was born in Bridgeport, CT, on April 22, 1939, to James and Esther Hamlin Connors.
She grew up in Bridgeport along with her siblings, Catherine, Sally, and James. While working at St. Vincent's Hospital, she met the love of her life, Jack. They were married on June 11, 1960.
Throughout her life, Mary Lou was known for her kindness, strength, sense of humor, and generosity. She dedicated many years to being a loving wife and mother and raising her three daughters, being very involved in all their activities growing up. Mary took great joy as a Girl Scout leader for many years, one of many supportive parents for the Tornadoes Drum and Bugle Corps, and was constantly moving her girls between dancing school and music lessons. In later years, she had a wonderful career working for Rocco's restaurant, then, for many years, for the Prince of Wales. She also volunteered for McGivney House and Caroline House, which she loved. In her spare time, she and her best friend Cathy Klosky were consultants for Colonial Craft. She was also a forever advocate for Stanley Home products (everyone received those products at Christmas for many years). Mary Lou and Jack loved to travel extensively across the US, seeing national parks with friends and family. Their most memorable trip was to Ireland and Alaska.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jack, her three children, Jill Green, Laura Tallberg (Richard), and Karen Bodnar(James). She is survived by her seven grandchildren: Sarah Green, Shawn Green (Megan), Emily Guerrucci (Frederick Sidelinger), and Victoria Tallberg. Elizabeth Sherry (Kevin). Amy Bodnar and Christopher Bodnar. She is also survived by her three great-grandchildren: Austin and Braxton Green and Ellie Guerrucci-Sidelinger. She is survived by her siblings, Catherine Davis, Sally Fernandez, and James Connors(Swaraj).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 3-5 pm at Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, CT. A prayer service will follow at 5 pm, which all are welcome to join. Burial will be private.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Bridges of Trumbull for the wonderful care that she received.
