Kevin Donald Shea, of Fairfield, Connecticut, passed away on November 24, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 29, 1949, Kevin grew up between Montclair, New Jersey and Osterville, Massachusetts—two places that shaped his deep love of community, the outdoors, and lifelong friendships.
Kevin attended The Lawrenceville School and graduated from Montclair High School in 1967. He went on to Colgate University, where he ran track and became the university record holder in the 440-yard relay. A gifted athlete with a relentless drive, he earned an ICFA medal and carried that competitive spirit and discipline throughout his life. While at Colgate, Kevin took classes at Vassar College, which was still an all-girls college at the time. He later received his MBA with high honors from NYU's Stern School of Business.
Kevin began his career at Goldman Sachs before embracing his true calling as an entrepreneur. He founded his first company, Concept 90, with his brother Mike, and went on to create several other ventures, including Shea, Paschall & Macchionni, Inc., which was eventually acquired by Hambros Bank, and Shea & Associates, which he ran until he retired. Known for his energy, creativity, and brilliant mind, Kevin built companies not just through vision, but through generosity, loyalty, and a deep belief in the people he worked alongside.
After retiring, Kevin's intellectual curiosity only expanded. He devoted himself to researching ancient civilizations, diving into history with the same enthusiasm he brought to business, athletics, and life.
Kevin will be remembered for his fun-loving spirit—his wild dancing, his sharp wit, and his ability to make any room brighter. He was playful, endlessly curious, and deeply supportive of the people he loved. Music filled his home; humor filled his conversations; and kindness filled his relationships. He was a loyal friend, a devoted husband, and a proud father whose guidance, steadiness, and encouragement were constants for his children.
Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Harrie T. and Patricia Shea, and his brother Brian Shea. He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Blake; his children Samantha, Cody, and Annabelle; and his grandchildren, Beatrice and Winifred.
He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, curiosity, determination, and love—qualities that will continue to shape the lives of those who knew him.
A quiet family gathering will be held this summer in Cape Cod, his favorite place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in his memory.
