Henry Romero Obituary

Henry Romero, 99, passed peacefully on September 30, 2025, in Stamford, CT. Born on August 24, 1926, in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of Henry Romero and Laura Tua Romero of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

Growing up in Brooklyn and The Bronx, he was an outgoing, energetic young man. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in December 1952 during the Korean Conflict and served with distinction, earning an honorable discharge.  That time of service shaped his future involvement and support of many veterans and civic organizations, most notably the Raymond Bower Chapter of the Catholic War Veterans.

He was a Real Estate Broker at Romero Realty. He found great joy and success in his ability to assist first-time homeowners. He was kind and polite with a witty sense of humor.

He is survived by Aurora Spiegel, the mother of his children, and an endearing friend.  He is the loving father of Denise Romero, Henry Romero, Jr., and his wife, Evelyn, and the late Frank Edward Romero.  Also, Henry Romero is the grandfather of Amber, Henry “Rene” (Crystal), Samantha, Alexander, Raemi, late Frank Romero, Jr., and great-grandfather of Henry “Tucker” and Adrian.  He leaves behind a legacy of extended family and friends to mourn his passing.

Along with Henry’s strong involvement in business and veterans’ organizations, he was a lifelong self-educated history and civics buff who believed that if you didn’t study and understand history, then it would repeat itself.

Henry will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Bower Catholic War Veterans, 40 Alfred St, Bridgeport, CT 06605.
