Louise DeFelice Macchiarelli, 87, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, passed away on August 30th, after a long illness surrounded by loving family.

    Louise was born May 19th, 1938 in Bridgeport, the daughter of Angelina Puleo DeFelice and Ferdinand DeFelice. Louise graduated from St. John's Nep. High School in 1954, then went on to share her many talents throughout a long career. Early on she worked for Remington Rand, then was business manager for LSI Security before embarking on her own catering business and working for the D'Valda and Sirico Dance and Music Centre. Louise married Michael Macchiarelli, Sr. on April 12th, 1958 at St. Ambrose. They celebrated 53 years together prior to his passing in October of 2011.

    Louise is survived by three loving children, Michael, Jr., wife Diana, Dina, Dawn, wife Kelly, 2 grandchildren Jennifer, Michael, wife Eugenia and two great grandsons, Leontiy and Lukyan.

    Louise was elegance personified. She was a consummate hostess, loving to gather family and friends for dinner parties and special occasions. She never missed a detail from floral design to decor and an amazing menu. She could sing. she could sew. She could do it all. She was equally comfortable with a spatula or a hammer. Often taking on her remodeling projects. She loved to travel and was fortunate to see much of the world including her family's town of origin Bagheria in Sicily.

    Remaining to cherish Louise's memory are her sister, RoseAnn Zmarzlak and brother, Fred DeFelice, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Preceding Louise in death are her mother, Angelina DeFelice, her sister, Judith DeFelice, brother in-law, Robert Zmarzlak and sister in-law, Genrose Alfano.

    Visitation will be held Sunday, September 7th, from 3 to 7 pm in the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield Center. Funeral services will continue on Monday, September 8th, at 10:30 am at St. Ann's in Bridgeport. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
