Sherri Manuel, 52, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 6th. Sherri lived life to the fullest with excitement and enthusiasm. She was a graduate of Staples High School in Westport, CT, and a graduate of Camp Hill Soltane, Pennsylvania, a program for adults with intellectual differences. She held a successful career at Village Market in Wilton CT. for over 25 years. Sherri enjoyed many activities and field trips with Star Inc. of Norwalk, a full and active social life with Our Vision of Westport, and an independent residential lifestyle provided by Clasp Homes of Westport. Sherri was also an accomplished Special Olympian, earning a multitude of medals over her storied career. Her biggest accomplishment was being a Gold Medal winner in Equestrian Riding. Highlights of Sherri’s life include a Feature Cover Story in Westport Magazine- “A Day in the Life of Sherri Manuel”, runway model for Clasp Homes fundraiser, and the opportunity to meet her hero-Micheal J Fox-back-stage at a show taping, which resulted in a long-lasting friendship. Above all else, Sherri brought joy, happiness, and humor to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. May her light continue to shine in God’s Heaven forever. Sherri leaves behind a loving devoted family of-Julie McNamee-Mom, Tom McNamee- Dad, Charlie Manuel-brother, Becky Manuel-sister-in-law, Christina Parker-sister, Dan Parker-brother-in-law, Mandy Manuel-sister, nephews- Max-Benny and Bennett, stepbrothers-Ryan McNamee and wife Taylor, Andrew McNamee and wife Stephanie, nephews Logan, John and Elliot, and niece Morgan, along with many friends from Clasp Homes, Star Inc. and Our Vision. A wake will be held on Saturday August 9th, from 2-6pm at Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
