Rodney Charles Mester Obituary

Rodney "Hot Rod" Mester, age 67, of Black Rock, entered into eternal rest on July 25, 2025, after a long battle with multiple health issues at Bridgeport Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends.


He was born on February 20, 1958, in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Mester. Rodney was a Plumbing Fabricator for Sikorsky Aircraft for 38 years before his retirement and was a long-time member of the Teamsters Local 1150. He was an avid golfer who loved his daily rounds at "The Wheel" and playing pool at the Norden Club and Port 5. He is also considered a "Local Legend" of Black Rock by many.


Rodney is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Deborah Mester of Bridgeport; Son, Joseph Mester and wife Kimberly of Milford; Grandchildren, Alexis and Joseph, Jr.; Great Grandchildren, George and Annabella; Brother, Robert Mester of Bridgeport and multiple cherished family members (In-Laws, Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews).


He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Mester, and daughter Jennifer Louise Mester.
