Obituary of Beverly Ann Rotolo

Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Beverly Ann Topar Rotolo, 79, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Samuel Rotolo, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent's Medical Center on June 20, 2025, with her niece, Christine Hanna, at her side.

Beverly was the daughter of the late Victor and Grace Draskovics Topar. Born in Bridgeport, she was a graduate of Bassick High School. She worked for many years as chief bookkeeper for First National and Big Buy stores in Bridgeport and Fairfield. She finished her career working for the Bridgeport Board of Education as the secretary at Hallen School. She was an avid Yankee fan and followed the UConn men's and women's basketball teams. She enjoyed traveling with her husband both locally and abroad.

While Beverly had no children of her own, she was a doting aunt who shared maternal love with her many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Above everything, Beverly always thought of others. She was a dedicated daughter to each of her parents through the time of their passing. She did everything in her power to care for and comfort her late siblings Robert Topar, Marsha Hanna, and Deborah Rosenfeld at the end of their lives. She was the first to remember a birthday, find the right gift, or cook the perfect meal – often a pot of soup or her signature stuffed cabbage – that brought her joy by bringing joy and comfort to others.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Beverly is predeceased by her first husband, Frank Verzaro, and second husband, Samuel J. Rotolo. Beverly is survived by her stepchildren, Susan and Samuel Rotolo of Virginia and Nancy and Jim Tamulis of South Carolina and her brother-in-law, Michael Hanna, of Fairfield. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Dr. Christopher Topar of Berlin, Germany; Katherine (Xavier) Michon of White Plains, NY; Jeffrey (Jenny) Hanna of Richmond, Virginia; Christine (Bo) Hanna and Jason (Melissa) Hanna, both of Southport; and Vanessa (Brent) Eason, Brian (Nancy) Rosenfeld, and David Rosenfeld, all of North Carolina. She also has leaves behind beloved grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as a wealth of friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on July 1, 2025, at St. Emery's Church, King's Highway, Fairfield, with interment immediately following at St. Michael's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. For travel directions or to sign her online guest register, please visit www.LeskoFuneralHome.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Emery's Church in Beverly's name.
