"To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
Andrew "Roo" LeVino passed away unexpectedly in his home in Woodbury, CT on May 15, 2025, following a brief illness.
Roo was born in Norwalk, CT on November 10th, 1990 and spent a joyful childhood by the beach in Fairfield, CT. As a boy, Roo was always building things, playing golf or baseball, or performing magic tricks he invented himself – illusions that were clever, original, and closely guarded. He was known for his humor and vivid imagination, which he poured into sketch comedy videos he wrote and performed for fun with friends from the neighborhood.
He quickly found his passion in medicine, briefly attending Southern Connecticut State University before becoming an EMT and later a paramedic.
Roo's legacy lives on in the people he helped – the lives he saved and the families behind them – as well as the EMTs he trained to continue that work. He spent more than a decade serving Fairfield and New Haven Counties before moving into a teaching role at Naugatuck Valley Community College, something he'd looked forward to for years.
Outside of work, Roo was known for entertaining friends and family, traveling often, and indulging his love for shooting, motor sports, and whatever new project was on his workbench. We will miss his wicked sense of humor and biting puns, that mischievous twinkle in his eye, and hearing him sing along to the Spice Girls or Beyonce when he thought no one was listening – especially the high notes.
He is survived by his fiancée, Samantha Florence; his father, Shelby LeVino, and stepmother, Julie Heussner; his grandmother, Anne LeVino; his brother, Grayson LeVino, and sister-in-law, Marjorith Garcia; his stepsisters, Haley Brown and her wife, Megan Guidarelli, and Erin Brown and her partner, Phillip Kratzman; and his nieces, Ishany Garcia and Melinda LeVino-Garcia. He is also survived by his “Three Crazy Aunts,” a number of uncles, and many beloved cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother, Melinda LeVino, who inspired his path into emergency medicine, and by his grandparents, Frank and Marion Rozsahegyi and Ted LeVino.
A small, private service will be held for the family at Oaklawn Cemetery before his interment.
