James M. Baumgartner

February 21,1939-May 7, 2025

James passed away peacefully in his sleep. “Jimmy" was born in Oak Park, IL. He lived in several Chicago suburbs until the family moved to various great destinations; Puerto Rico, Miami, FL New Orleans, LA Savannah, GA and the Florida panhandle. All his travels contributed to his artistic talents, outgoing personality, and easy adaptability. Born with natural ability to fix anything, he became quite the handyman, a jack of all trades if you will, particularly when a boat or car was involved. Jimmy always made time for local boat shows or big classic car shows on both the East and West Coasts.

Once he met and married Adrienne, the love of his life, they settled in Connecticut. As both were "night owls" they made a perfect match! Stepchildren Eddie,

"Little  A" (Billy) and Douglas (Annmarie) added to their many loving years together as well as being further blessed when grandchildren Alyssa, Christopher and Kaitlyn came along.

Jimmy was happiest whenever he was sailing his Alden Schooner, riding his motorcycle or collecting his many classic cars over the years and regaling all who would listen with the tales of his many adventures.

Jimmy will be dearly missed by all, including his California siblings, Diane, Barry and Burt. He is also survived by son James M. Jr. and daughter, Debra D., both residents of FL.

Rest peacefully dear son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and true friend to all. You will always be loved and remembered as a one-of-a-kind soul.

For sure, “Big A” was waiting to welcome him to a new forever home together!

Memorial service will be private.
