Eileen Carnes Foster, 69, of Bridgeport, passed away on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025.
Born in Stamford in 1955, Eileen was a member of the first graduating class of West Hill High School. In 1984, she married David Foster at the Rowayton Library in Norwalk surrounded by family and friends, and the couple enjoyed 41 wonderful years of marriage, raising two children, Craig and Becky. She was an incredible mother and friend to her children throughout their lives and was a loving grandmother. Eileen cherished family vacations, gardening, being outside, taking photographs and finding the joys in life every single day.
A talented artist, she specialized in landscape portraits for residents of Fairfield County and painted many notable landmarks. Eileen had a deep love for the beach, kayaking, hiking, pottery, walking her beloved dog Gracie and was a die-hard Yankees fan throughout her life.
Eileen is survived by her husband of 41 years, David Lee Foster of Fairfield; her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Nicole Foster of Wappingers Falls, New York; her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Craig Rittberg of Fairfield; and her grandchildren, Mila Rittberg and Crew Rittberg of Fairfield. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Andy Iacurci of Sun City, Florida; her brother and sister-in-law, David and Julie Carnes of Everett, Washington; her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and George Cohan of Ridgefield, Connecticut; her sister and brother-in-law, Ginnie and Tucker Chase of Stratford, Connecticut; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her mother, Carol Carnes, and her father, Joseph Carnes.
