Patricia Lynn “Patti” (Sayer) Pastore, 74, of Fairfield, passed away on April 20, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Born on April 5, 1951, to the late Donald and Jean “Pat” (Murphy) Sayer, Patti was raised in Stamford and attended St. Mary’s School and Stamford Catholic High School. In her early years, she worked as a telephone operator and a legal secretary.
Patti married Michael P. Pastore on June 12, 1971. In 1974, Patti and Mike moved their growing family to Fairfield, where Patti volunteered at Holy Family School, running the monthly hot dog lunches for several years, and singing in the choir at Holy Family Church.
Patti later worked for a number of years at Fairfield University. In retirement she enjoyed traveling, baking holiday cookies and yelling at UConn basketball players, coaches and referees through the television.
But Patti’s favorite role was that of “Nonna” to her six grandchildren: Julian, Addison, Garrett, Evelyn, Brady and Cullen.
In addition to her husband and grandchildren, Patti is survived by her three sons: James Pastore and his wife Christine, Michael J. Pastore and his wife Laura, and Christopher Pastore and his wife Katie, all of Trumbull; her daughter Amy Rella of Fairfield; her brothers, Michael Sayer and his wife Mary, and Robert Sayer and his wife Janet, all of Vero Beach, Florida; her sisters-in-law Kay Sayer of St. Louis and Monnie Pastore, Sophie Pastore, Lucille Longo and Virginia Rappa, all of Stamford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Patti was preceded in death by her brother Donald Sayer, her in-laws Michael and Angelina Pastore, her brothers-in-law Carmine Longo and Phillip Rappa; and her nieces Kelly Sayer and Laura Longo.
