Obituary of Joseph Edward Feher, III

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joseph Edward Feher, III of Newtown, CT, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of March 25, 2025, at the age of 94. He was born on November 25, 1930, to Joseph E. and Elizabeth (Benko) Feher in Bridgeport, CT. He is predeceased by his wife, Kathryn "Kay" Palsa, and his brothers, Paul and Michael Feher.

Joseph served on the naval ship USS Vogelgesang during the Korean War and enjoyed exploring the different countries they visited, particularly Italy. He was a proud member of Electricians Local 488, having maintained his membership for over 70 years. Joseph and Kay were part of several Depression glass clubs, where they formed lifelong friendships. They were also antique glass dealers for many years. Joe loved meeting people and sharing his passion for vintage glass. He was an avid golfer, achieving three holes-in-one after the age of 70!

Joe is survived by his beloved sister, Joan Crader Morgan; his sons, Kenneth Feher of Newtown, CT, and Robert Feher of Phoenix, AZ; his daughters, Diane Ahearn and her husband, James, of Colchester, CT; Elaine Stafford and her husband, Alan, of Charlotte, NC; and Victoria Balogh and her husband, Lloyd, of Sandy Hook, CT. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jordan Feher; Holly and Karinne Feher; Kelly Ahearn and her husband, DJ; Kevin Ahearn; Justin and Kyle Drake; and Kristina and Craig Balogh. Additionally, he is survived by his great-granddaughter, Charlotte.

Visitation will occur on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield, CT from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by prayer service at the funeral home. Joseph's burial will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery in Fairfield.
