Robert Gordon, affectionately known as "Jersey Bob," passed away on February 25, 2025, in Trumbull, Connecticut. He was surrounded by his son Matthew, and his loving partner, Susan, who honored him in his final moments. Bob was born on June 12th, 1945, in Newark, New Jersey to his parents Tom and Nadine Gordon. He grew up in West Orange and Parsippany, New Jersey, and graduated from Parsippany High School, where he was a proud member of the baseball team. He went on to earn both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Seton Hall University. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Nadine Gordon; his sister Nadine Picard; and his niece, Lee Ann Ascolese. He is survived by his son, Matthew and Matthew's wife Tara; his four grandsons, Ethan, Logan, Mason and Warren; and his former wife, Mary Jane Gordon. He is also survived by his sister, Rosemary Tonzos and her husband, Bob, along with their son, Bobby; his brother, Tom, and Tom's wife, Kathy, along with their children, Karen, Terry and Tommy, in addition he leaves behind his devoted partner, Susan Burns, and her family. Bob raised his son in Randolph, New Jersey, and had a distinguished career as Vice President of Sales at Ashland Chemical, where he worked for thirty-four years. He also served as an officer in the United States Air Force and the US Air Force Reserves. One of Bob's greatest joys was spending time at his beloved Normandy Beach, New Jersey, where he cherished moments with friends, relaxed on his front porch, and shared his passion for music by singing and playing guitar. He will always be remembered for his kindness, warmth and the love he had for his friends in both Connecticut and New Jersey. The family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude to the Bridges staff in Trumbull, Connecticut, especially his three angels, Melanie, Irene, and Rachel for their compassionate care. They also deeply appreciate the Hospice staff for providing him with dignity and comfort in his final days. Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, March 7th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Lesko Funeral Home, located at 1209 Post Rd, Fairfield, CT. A prayer service will take place at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. All other services will be held privately.
